Duane
Magus, Sturgeon Memorial's general manager and funeral director, was born
in Edmonton and at the age of 5 years old his family moved to the Sturgeon
Area where he was raised and attended school. Following his
education years he began to work for the municipality of Sturgeon where he
spent 9 1/2 years.
Duane had always had a desire to be in the care giving industry, which brought him to be a funeral director. Duane had started in the business in 1994 working part-time with many firms in the Edmonton area. He then started full time in 1998 and graduated 2000 at the Western School of Funeral Service.
Glenn
Merritt, Sturgeon Memorial’s owner and funeral director, resides in the
Sturgeon area with his wife Gertrude, where they carefully planed the
funeral chapel to serve the people who are in need of personalized service
with a fraction of the cost, compared to large traditional funeral
providers. Each family is served to the highest of respect and comfort at
Sturgeon Memorial’s funeral home.
